Environment and Presidency

19 December 2009 No Comment

By now, we all know that Green Presidential candidate Nicanor Perlas was unfairly declared a nuisance by the Commission on Election (COMELEC)… I dont know what the “real” reason was behind his qualification — but seems to me it’s probably because he is not that “popular and rich” as compared with the others.

Oh well..

Anyway, now that the real green candidate is supposedly out of the race, who’s the next best bet for President, as far as the environment is concerned? Who among the Presidentiables would care enough to bring our country to a sustainable future — who would be able to marry economic progress and environmental protection — who would be able to safeguard us people while protecting our beloved (and only) environment.

It’s like being an addict (im not one)… the whole of the country must undergo a drug rehab to cleanse our system — our mindset, our ways, our values, our passion, and gear it towards greener issues — back to basics, being clean… It’s the only way to go…

There are lots more ways to learn about the environment. If you want, you may just read over at the USEPA on Environmental Education. Click here to go to their page.
