Junk Art Photos
As promised, here are a few photos from the Junk Art Encounter with VSA Arts Philippines and the Environmental Management Bureau.

First off, the gold awardee, from the Katipunan ng mga Magulang ng mga Batang May Kapansanan sa Mandaluyong, Inc. They were followed by St. Francis School (Silver), and then the Philippine Council of Cheshire Homes for the Disabled, Inc. Giving them special gifts are Earth Day Network Head Bebet Gozun, EMB Director Miguel Cuna, and EMB EEID Chief Elen Basug. Each participant was given tokens to thank them for participating and going out of their way to help mother earth.
Here are more photos…

By the way, the kids’ task is to turn “wastes” to art, but they had to follow a theme — Climate Change. Kilos Na, Ngayon Na! They were allowed to bring in “junk” — mostly cartons and magazines… also product packaging (like milo, or shampoo, or herbal diet supplements). I loved it when they recycled the bottles and the boxes from the food we gave them for breakfast. Wise! Very wise!

Last one’s a shot of the St. Francis team. They were one of the first to arrive, and were really organized. They also did great — in fact, they got the silver award.
Anyway, hopefully, there’d be more like this one… Show the world how creative pinoys are.
