Tullahan River Adopted!

Remember the lecture series we had with the barangay leaders of Brgy. Tullahan in Valenzuela and Brgy. Talipapa in Quezon City? Well, something great finally came up — the Metro North Tollways Corporation (which sponsored the seminars) adopted a stretch of the Tullahan River!

Valenzuela Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista were also there to sign the MOA, along with, of course, MNTC President Rodrigo Franco and DENR Secretary Ramon Paje.

A restrainer was put up at the Maceda Bridge, and the day after the event, they were able to gather around 50 black bags of garbage. And the barangay leaders were also given their vermicompost kits so they could convert their food wastes into compost.

Of course, this is just the beginning of more waterway/river adoption projects.
