The other day, I was at the Save the Tullahan River meeting where different sectors of society met, organized, and came up with an action plan that would hopefully restore the river that has become polluted for many years now.
Phase One is gonna be Fairview, as it is part of the “upstream” (the first one at that), which means we would have to clean this part because if we start in the middle and the upstream parts of the river remain dirty, garbage would just flow downstream and efforts would just then be wasted.
Personally, I’m glad that all these are happening now — I mean, concern and love for the environment is growing. More and more now are getting involved, and would really want to be part of the green movement, no matter what their contribution would be. In a way, I have always believed that you don’t have to be a scientist, or an environment expert to do something great to improve our earth, genuine love is all that is needed for one to really act.
There’s gonna be another clean-up this Saturday, on the estero near NCBA in Fairview. If you live near the area and you have the time, and would wanna volunteer, please do so.
The Save the Tullahan River campaign is a partnership between Caritas Novaliches, QC LGU, MMDA, DENR, UPAO, and AFP… and of course, you.
Let’s all help save the Tullahan River!
