April 22 is coming and it’s Earth Day once again. It’s one special and really, really significant celebration — so special that it has been declared a Philippine holiday through Presidential Proclamation No. 1481 dated April 10, 2008.
For this year, the Earth Day Network Philippines has come up with the theme “Earth Day Every Day, Everywhere!” to remind us that our responsibility to take good care of our dear momma Earth is not a one day thing but should be the whole of our lives (and no, don’t feel like you’re at a stink bug trap rather that you’re doing something for the entire chain of life).
The Main Event will be held on Earth Day, April 22 (7am-5pm), at the Ayala Triangle in Makati City.
Here’s the tentative schedule (from the press kit they gave):
7:00 – 8:00 am – E(nvironmental) Lakad
8:00 – 8:30 am – Opening of Booths with Environmental Ritual
9:30 – 11:00 am – Earth Day 2012 Main Event
11:00 – 4:00 pm – Booth and other Activities
4:00 – 5:00 pm – Cultural presentation
Working together to make this year’s Earth Day celebration are the following: Earth Day Network Philippines, Inc., Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Ayala Land, Inc., Ayala Foundation, Inc., City Government of Makati, and the Makati Commercial Estate Association.
See you there!
