DENR on Green Companies
Yesterday was the awarding of industries heralded as having exemplary environmental performance by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
No less than super business tycoon Lucio Tan was there to receive the award for his company, Absolut Distillers Inc. Other winners include Analog Devices - General Trias, Cavite, Nestle Phils., Inc.-Cabuyao Factory and Nestle Phils., Inc. - Lipa Factory, ON Semiconductor, PSI Technologies, STMicroelectronics, Inc., and Vishay Philippines.
The event was spearheaded by the Philippine Environment Partnership Program of the Environmental Management Bureau - DENR. The companies were awarded the DENR Seal Approval (for Track 1) under PEPP. They are the best, well, among the best, for they care enough to make sure that their processes wont be detrimental to our (and the environment’s) health — something that beats any low cost health insurance out there.
