Avoid Waste, Cut Down on Plastic
I’m just going over my facebook wall and I see this great news (from Miss Adel Licos via Bert Guevara) about BPI-Family Bank and BPI Card Center Canteens in Makati offering free dessert for their first 50 customers who will bring their own containers for take-out food!
Imagine executives in corporate men’s clothing or women in blazers and neat skirts lined up in the canteen with their own containers. Wow!
I think this is a great initiative for people to cut down on the use of plastic. As we all know, our esteros are now filled and lined with garbage — which are mostly plastic. There’s a collective call by the government, the NGOs, and the media for people to go back to using the bayongs (or green bags) when you do your market shopping to eliminate unnecessary plastics, and this new move by BPI is a great add-on to that!
Kudos to the people in BPI-Family Bank and BPI Card Center Canteens in Makati for doing this! I hope you’d continue this program, and well, call for your other branches to do this too!
